This beautiful tree is a eye catching sight with it¡¯s showy pink bloom clusters. The tabebuia is a fast growing tropical tree species that can reach up to 30 feet high. The pink trumpet shaped flowers grow in rounded clusters that become larger and more profuse as the trees mature. The tree is adaptable in full to partial sun locations and can even tolerate a light freeze and come back in the milder zones. They are recommended for USDA hardiness zones 9 to 11. If you are in a cool climate, or outside the hardiness zone, you may grow the plant in a large container and bring it indoors for the winter. Expect blossoms in Springtime between April ¨C May. Tabebuia has a high drought tolerance but pamper it with fertilizer and regular watering and watch it show it¡¯s appreciation! Pruning the dead wood and brittle old stems as it grows is an essential part of Tabebuia tree care.
